Interim services are limited services designed to provide consumers an opportunity to work through their ambivalence about treatment and explore their motivation for change.
This approach encourages consumers to use their own abilities to make an effective change for themselves. It provides staff helpful information to be used in treatment matching by measuring the consumer’s readiness to change. Interim services are provided to groups of consumers in two different formats:
1 - A single-session Orientation Group serves as an introduction to RBHA’s substance use disorder treatment services, as well as an opportunity to assess motivation and consumer readiness; and
2 - A brief, variable-session Waiting Group is held on Monday and Thursday afternoons and is provided as a supportive service for consumers who are waiting for admissions to a treatment program. It is designed to keep consumers motivated and engaged as they wait to enter the next phase of treatment.
