Intellectual Disabilities Services
Day Support Services
Day Support services provide planned combinations of individualized activities, supports, training, supervision, and transportation. Specific components of this service develop or enhance the following skills: self-care and hygiene, eating, toileting, task learning, using community resources, environmental and behavioral skills, and medication management.
Vocational/Employment Services
Vocational/Employment services are provided to improve work skills and job independence for individuals.
Services provided include:
Sheltered Employment – Provides work that is compensated in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act for individuals who are not ready, are unable, or choose not to enter into competitive employment.
Supported Employment – Enables individuals to work directly for a company in the community, earning at least minimum wage. Ongoing support services are provided by an employment specialist to help individuals remain employed.
Enclave Services – Provides work in the community at an employers work site. 4-6 Individuals work with a trained specialist and receive payment for their services.
Respite
Respite is specifically designed to provide temporary, substitute care for an individual who is normally taken care of by a family member or an unpaid caregiver. Respite is designed to focus on the need of the caregiver for temporary relief and to help the caregiver avoid physical and emotional stress caused by the dependent individual’s continuous need for care and support.
